]]>Bastard of the Skies kick off the first of four UK dates this month in support of their latest split release with Grimpen Mire, starting in Manchester tomorrow night 5th (with Coltsblood & Spacewitch) followed by London 6th (with Grimpen Mire, Sea Bastard & Torpor) , then on to Newcastle-under-Lyme 7th (with Rise to Thunder & Bleak Zero), the final date is on Saturday 21st with Iron Void in Wakefield.
]]>Well it’s been a while since Future Noise hosted a gig, but when Lee from The Sleeping Shaman called out for help with a last minute Manchester gig for WITCH MOUNTAIN & TOMBSTONES, we couldn’t say no!
The date is Friday 13th June at The Star & Garter, Manchester, we know this is short notice, but hope people can make it down.
Damage is just £5, doors open at 7.30pm, support will be announced very soon and a Facebook Event has been set up HERE.
Read on for more info about each band…
To coincide with the Euro tour, Svart Records is also issuing a limited vinyl version of the band’s earlier album South Of Salem. This edition of the classic album is expanded to a double-LP with a second disc consisting of rare tracks, unreleased cover songs, and demos.
The tour also comes shortly before the release of WITCH MOUNTAIN‘s highly anticipated fourth album, Mobile Of Angels which was produced in May 2014 at Type Foundry studios in Portland, Oregon by master “Engine-Ear” Billy Anderson and will feature the artwork of Mark McCormick. With Mobile Of Angels, WITCH MOUNTAIN stretches out into new musical frontiers, while still remaining firmly in the tradition of classic heavy doomed rock ‘n’ roll. The album will be released in September 2014 in Europe by Svart Records, and in North America by Profound Lore.
Meanwhile TOMBSTONES’ highly acclaimed album Red Skies And Dead Eyes was released in October by Soulseller Records, and has featured in many end-of -year lists and has received rave reviews from web- and fanzines throughout the world, including the likes of Terrorizer, Visions Magazine and Metal Hammer. In 2013 the band blew minds with three bludgeoning sets at Desertfest in London, found themselves supporting bands such as Clutch and Ufomammut, and are now ready to once again bring their crushing live act across Europe. TOMBSTONES can be described as the bastard child conceived by a filthy threesome with Sleep, Melvins and Bongripper.

A number of great reviews have already come in, thanks to all involved.
“Album of the day 1st July” – ROADBURN
“The album is expertly produced and played by all involved. I hope this is the start of many great things to come from this superb band. It is simply a stunning album I cannot recommend highly enough. – THE SLUDGELORD
Ultimately if you like the rich history of rock like Ozzy, like St Vitus and Rainbow, flavoured with the cream of the UK Underground then you should be killing yourself to listen to this album. – THE SLEEPING SHAMAN
“Monolith Cult, a foot-stomping, fist-in-the-air rabble-rouser. Here the vocals are Joe Lynn Turner possessed by Ronnie James Dio, and, despite Bry’s candour, it works a bloody treat. The crooning rides beautifully atop Baines’ guitar, a tuned down riff machine that’s ever changing, ever-fluid and ever brilliant” – THE LAIR OF FILTH
“Monolith Cult are able to accomplish throughout as one might hope, also giving a glimpse of where the foursome might be able to go with the sound their next time out. At around five and a half minutes in, it kicks into a steady thud that finishes the album with a moment of ultra-satisfying groove, giving a last-minute surprise to what’s already proven an impressive debut. – THE OBELISK
However, what is most striking from the first listen is the mastery of Bry Outlaw (ex-Khang) on vocals, his extraordinary ability to mix a fine vocal technique with the ability to give a great emotional to the tracks. To make it better with a comparison is a bit ‘like when you hear the recordings of Johan with Candlemass Langquist and then switch to those with Messiah Marcolin – CHURCH OF DEVIANCE

The bill will also included the monstrous B*STARD OF THE SKIES and RISE TO THUNDER. This triple bill of heaviness will cost you nothing as it’s FREE ENTRY, doors 7pm, starts 9pm, we are advising people to get there early.
